Darren has always had a passion for helping and interacting with people, which is why he received his RPN designation. He has worked in visiting nursing, palliative care, long-term care and as a nurse manager. Throughout his profession, he has received much satisfaction in working with seniors and decided to explore what seniors needed, in terms of care and services.
In talking to seniors, he discovered that many wished to remain in their homes, but due to physical andor health limitations needed some help to stay independent and live on their own. He realized the importance of respecting seniors’ wishes and accommodating them in doing what they wanted and how they wanted it. He truly believes that living independently at home in the comfort of ones surroundings is the key to longevity, happiness, and quality of life.
Darren sought out to find a company that would share his vision and in helping seniors. This is when Darren joined the Retire-At-Home team – they shared his vision of offering the best in quality and care our seniors and families deserve.
Company History
Since 1994, we have been providing Personal Home Care Services to individuals who are dealing with health concerns that affect their independence. Our goal is to give you the choice to stay at home for as long as you wish while maintaining your independence.

Mrs. Martin founded Retire-At-Home with the philosophy that quality care must address both the emotional and the physical health of an individual. It has been shown that the healing process is accelerated when they are emotionally healthy. This is the reason we aim to bring peace of mind to our clients and their families by making every effort possible to personalize our services to each client and their individual needs. This is our total well-being approach and is the philosophy that drives our entire team to build strong, long-lasting relationships with all our clients.
